Meca is one of the few lawyers who is licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court and she is one of the few lawyers who is a member of the Texas Bar College, an honor society of lawyers and judges who obtain at least double the CLE required by the State Bar of Texas. She is a Certified Property Insurance Umpire and her vast experience on both sides of the bench gives her the unique qualifications to help you settle your case.

         

Meca moved to Houston when she was 3 years old and graduated from Cy-Fair High School in 1989.  She received her B.A. from Clark Atlanta University (Atlanta, GA) in 1993 and she received her J.D. from Howard University School of Law (Washington, DC) in 1997.  After working in the General Counsel's office at Howard University for 2 years, Meca returned to Houston in 1999 and began a litigation practice in January 2000.  Her law firm, Walker and Waller, PLLC had offices in Houston, Texas and Washington, DC.  She handled transactional work, litigation and mediations until 2007 when she received her first appointment to become a member of the Texas Judiciary.

Meca has the distinct honor of receiving 3 judicial appointments to serve as the Associate Judge in the 309th District Court, then in the 247th District Court and finally in the 311th District Court.  She served as an Associate Judge for almost 10 years and while serving on the bench she consistently received one of the highest
